Szabina(之前我翻译那篇的作者) 把一篇匈牙利报道翻译成英文了,我再次把它翻成中文。

The journalist of National Sports was luckier than me and she managed to make an interview. I have translated it for another forum and might just as well post it here, too, in case some Plush fans would be interested. Nothing real sensation, but nonetheless...

„I would rather dance it”
Plushenko expresses himself easier on the ice
By: Erika Kovács
Evgeni Plushenko has already won everything possible. This year even his greatest dream came true when he won the Olympic title in Turin. He has fans from all over the world. Friday evening there was a big crowd waiting in Budapest, too, desperate to see his ice show with Edvin Marton, violin virtuoso.
Black costume, black boots. Professional movements, precisely worked out steps and jumps. The ice king has not much time left to spend on interviews. First he asks us to wait for twenty minutes because he would like to practice with Edvin Marton. The twenty minutes then gets doubled and finally lasts until the end of the show, but who cares? Having a chance to enjoy Plushenko’s outstanding jumps is a pleasure. It is, indeed, incredible what this man does on the ice!
- You look unbelievably confident on the ice, jumping triples during even the warm-up like it was the most natural thing on earth. Don’t you ever scream inside that "Oh my, I am gonna fall!" and rather skip the jump planned.
- No, I am not afraid. I started skating when I was four so I have had enough practice not to have a though like that.
- You were the first one who jumped a 4-3-2 combination. The skating world, as well as the audience was enchanted.
- So was I – smiles Evgeni. – When I first performed this combination at a competition I was utterly happy. At the time I thought I would never be able to exceed that. And then I did. When the first 4-3-3 combination worked out it seemed to be a pure miracle even for me. I was feeling so high! The fact that I have done it and that it is me, who is able to do it was such an uplifting feeling.
- You have all titles an eligible athlete can possible get, you are a multiple world and European champion and now you have got that so-much-yearned Olympic gold. What is your inspiration now? Where does your motivation come from?
- I am always looking ahead. I want to get more and more out of myself, going further, always beyond my former achievements. I have new goals all the time. Therefore, although my medal collection is complete, I can’t say that I would not be happier with a second Olympic title.
- And what about going professional? As a long term plan, maybe…
- Many ask me the same question, especially since Turin. I cannot answer this just yet. All I can say is - maybe… In any case, what I do need the most right now is rest. I must have a break.
- Even the more so because of your son, Hristian, has recently been born. You won the Olympics in February and became a father in June.
- The two cannot be compared. Skating is my life; my work and I have been working so hard to become an Olympic champion since my early childhood. I have succeeded and it makes me happy. Fatherhood? That’s a completely different feeling. I cannot find the words to describe that. I could express my feelings rather through dance than by words.
- On the ice or on the parquet?
- I like to dance on the parquet, too, not only on the ice. Unfortunately, I have very little time to do that so for me the ice is left.
- To the great pleasure of your fans… You were extremely well received at the Turin gala, where you performed on the ice together with Edvin Marton. Where is your relationship from?
- We met in 2001 in Zurich at a competition and have been working together ever since. However, we are more than just working partners, during the years we have got close to each other and become friends. It has always been a pleasure working together as we really do every part of the work commonly; neither of us plays the boss.
- Then my only question remaining is what direction you two together are going from here? I can see you’re smiling again…
- Don’t even continue! But, you know what? I’ll continue! Until 2010, the Vancouver Olympic Games, for sure!
The Mystery of Soul
As the friend and music partner describes: "It is an unbelievable experience working together with such a fantastic person. I am using this adjective not without reason. For me Plushenko is more than just an outstanding athlete. The moment he steps on the ice what we see is not only a great sportsman but he also allows us to see his soul. This is what means a lot more to me as well as to his fans, whose number is enormous. We work jointly in every respect. He shows me how he plans to do his jumps and I involve him into my music composing secrets. This then results in our mutual production."
